Abusers Love Abortion: Ohio Doctor Accused of FORCING Chemical Abortion into Girlfriend’s Mouth

The Chemical Abortion industry is truly a modern-day Wild West — a lawless wasteland filled with abusive men, shady salesmen, and “damsels (and their babies) in distress.” Just this week, yet another sleazy man, surgical resident Dr. Hassan-James Abbas, has been accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend and forcing crushed Chemical Abortion Pills into her mouth against her will.

Toledo’s WTVG reported that Abbas “allegedly used his estranged wife’s information to order abortion drugs for his girlfriend” immediately after finding out about the pregnancy in December 2024.

The State Medical Board of Ohio alleged he “ordered prescription abortion medication from an out-of-state provider using his estranged wife’s information, without her knowledge or consent” and “paid for it with his own credit card.”

Chillingly, after the pills arrived, Abbas’ girlfriend alleged that she stayed the night at his house, awoke around 4AM to him pinning her down and forcing crushed Chemical Abortion Pill powder into her mouth, and was then prevented by him from calling 911. She ultimately made it to a hospital and was entered into the system as an assault victim.

According to the Medical Board’s formal medical license suspension letter, Abbas had (perhaps suspiciously) offered the girlfriend a variety of beverages while in possession of the Chemical Abortion Pills and allegedly assaulted her two days after she set her first obstetric appointment, painting a picture of what looks to be a calculated crime.

While the Center for Christian Virtue reported that the preborn baby did not survive this attack, no other outlet has yet reported on the pregnancy’s outcome.

Abbas has admitted to every claim except for that of physically forcing the crushed pills into his girlfriend’s mouth, claiming instead that she “agreed to take them.” So, to sum up: Abbas admitted to the Medical Board that he ordered the pills for a woman who did not want them, crushed them up as if they were to be administered to a pet, assaulted his girlfriend and sent her to the hospital, tossed the evidence out his window on the way to work, yet drew some sort of moral line at force-feeding her the pills

It’s an interesting detail that he ordered the pills from an “out-of-state provider,” despite Ohio being a lawless abortion free-for-all following the 2023 passage of a radical abortion amendment to the state’s constitution. There are no legal safeguards for Ohioans who want to order the pills; he likely could have even used his own name with no questions asked from the seller (though it doesn’t often suit those planning a crime to slap their name on the evidence).

This story of alleged abortion abuse out of northern Ohio is not unique. As Chemical Abortion has grown into a genuine epidemic — thoroughly bolstered by the Biden Administration’s 2023 removal of the in-person dispensing requirement — it’s become increasingly clear that Chemical Abortion Pills have become the abuser’s drug of choice. To name a few recent cases:

  • Mason Herring — Texas (2022–2024)
Houston attorney indicted after slipping an abortion drug into his wife’s drink; later pleaded guilty and received jail time and probation.
  • Robert Kawada – Massachusetts (2024-2025)
Charged with secretly giving his girlfriend pills said to be misoprostol; reporting says the baby died and the defendant was arrested and arraigned.
  • Emerson Evans — Illinois (2025)
Arrested and charged after police said he secretly gave his pregnant girlfriend mifepristone; local reporting and police statements described recovered pills and the baby’s body.

Students for Life of America & Students for Life Action have been sounding the alarm on this for years. We have filed citizen petitions and created model legislation to compel the Food and Drug Administration and other federal agencies to review their approval of drugs like mifepristone, raised concerns about women’s safety and environmental impacts, and mobilized state-by-state legislative efforts (in 13 states as of early 2025) to restrict online/remote access, pharmacy dispensing, and to require stronger safeguards.

Until our nation begins taming the Wild West that is Chemical Abortion by demanding accountability, abusers, pill vendors, and abortion businesses will continue to win.

And mothers and babies will continue to lose.
