PRAYER IS OFFENSIVE NOW? Pro-Abortion Student Steals Charlie Kirk Prayer Vigil Poster

Let’s give the abortion lobby this one: at least they aren’t discriminatory when it comes to celebrating death.

For all their flaws, abortion supporters can be very consistent on their stance. If you (born or preborn) are considered inconvenient, you should die — and then far be it from anyone to mourn. That’s what we’re seeing on campus in the wake of pro-life defender Charlie Kirk’s assassination, anyways.

Recently at Northern Michigan University (NMU), the Students for Life of America (SFLA) team and our pro-life student group there was verbally harassed by “very hostile” abortion supporters when tabling with our All Human Life is Valuable Campus Display Tour.

Thankfully, per SFLA’s safety standards, campus security had been notified ahead of time and was able to be a presence nearby so things did not get violent.

However, one of the pro-abortion students that we had been engaging with later walked out on the conversation, headed to the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) table nearby, and stole their poster which was advertising a prayer vigil for Charlie Kirk and his family happening later in the week.

The President of NMU TPUSA, Evan Reister, reported: “On Wednesday, September 17th, while tabling in an NMU academic facility, a woman came by and aggressively tore down a poster of Charlie Kirk and destroyed it. There was no conversation with the woman. The NMU police were quick to respond, and the TPUSA chapter is pressing charges.”

SFLA Michigan Regional Coordinator Morgan Reece said, “It’s disheartening yet not surprising that this girl resorted to stealing a poster that was honoring a man who died for his Christian beliefs, rather than having respectful dialogue with the TPUSA chapter. When she interacted with the Protect Life group, she insisted on shouting over us, laughing at us, and refusing to listen to us.”

After expressing her disregard for preborn children and clearly showing the same for our team and students, it doesn’t throw us for a loop that this abortion supporter would then show such disregard for Kirk’s life, too — but it’s still sad. This is a testament to how deeply rotted our society has become following cancerous decisions such as Roe v. Wade.

It’s also yet another reason that we need a “Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day” in the United States.

This is something that our sister organization, Students for Life Action (SFLAction), has begun working on at both the federal and state level — a commemoration of Kirk’s birthday, October 14th, as a national holiday. SFLA President Kristan Hawkins said, “The Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day Act would establish a national reminder that our First Amendment freedom of speech and religion are foundational to our existence as a nation. My friend Charlie inspired this generation, and we hope he will do the same for generations to come.”

Bills are already moving in North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia.

Let’s pray these pieces of proposed legislation get passed — and we’re not sorry if the abortion lobby is offended by those prayers, either.
