The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) has been driving the national narrative for Planned Parenthood to Go Fund Themselves.

First, it started with a widely covered and successful media event in front of the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, March 27th. But it was only the beginning, as shortly after, we launched more than 100 Life Chain events in 33 states to symbolize the lives lost to Planned Parenthood every day.

Check out several stories and pictures from the nationwide Life Chains…

Annapolis, Maryland

Capital Regional Coordinator Rachel Nesmith attended the Maryland Pro-Life March. Additionally, Nesmith and her students displayed the Cemetery of the Innocents at the Capitol Building, and dozens of students stopped by. Check out the pictures!

Richmond, Virginia

Advanced Leadership Coordinator Natalee Wilson led a great event that saved at least one preborn baby as she and fellow pro-lifers wrote chalk messages on the sidewalk outside of an abortion vendor, urging women to choose Life.

DeLand, Florida

At Stetson University, Florida Regional Coordinator Kristen Marais joined a new SFLA group for their first time tabling on campus. They had over 70 conversations and 15 sign-ups.

Milledgeville, Georgia

Southern Field Operations Coordinator Cori Rogers went to Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. A group of frat guys came by the Cemetery of the Innocents display. Rogers asked if they knew about Planned Parenthood and what the abortion giant did to preborn babies. Some men didn’t know, which opened an opportunity to explain the powerful display. They were shocked to hear about how many babies die a day at Planned Parenthood locations.

Overland Park, Kansas

In Overland Park, Kansas, Midwest Regional Coordinator William Anderson went to Planned Parenthood with seven students and community members from Benedictine College, the University of Kansas, Wichita, and even one person from Sedalia, Missouri. They chalked, prayed, and even saw a turnaround with help from Coalition Life.

New York City, New York

While Northeast Field Operations Coordinator Savannah Craven and other pro-life advocates were outside of a New York City Planned Parenthood, many abortionists and nurses walked out after their shifts ended. One yelled, “You going to pay my bills!?”

Craven responded, “Yes! We will help you find a better job! We know Planned Parenthood treats its employees horribly, and the pay is awful. We want to help you!”

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Even though it was a rainy day in Fort Wayne, Indiana, that didn’t stop Great Lakes Regional Coordinator Ben Ice and roughly 10 community members from holding a prayer vigil outside the local Planned Parenthood. This powerful display caught local media attention, resulting in nationwide coverage.

Our Campaign for Abortion Free Cities Leaders Got in on the Action, Too

In over 100 locations nationwide, leaders and students hosted our Defund Planned Parenthood ACROSS America Life Chain, including 11 AFC locations.  Below are a few stories from top Campaign for Abortion Free Cities Leaders.

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Jacksonville, Florida

“The Defund Planned Parenthood ACROSS America life chain was an incredible visual representation of the human life taken by Planned Parenthood every day. I am incredibly grateful to the Jacksonville Pro-Life Community for showing up and taking a stand in the name of life! We had a turnout of almost 70 people who showed nothing but selflessness and compassion by their presence. Those passing by could not help but turn their heads toward the display, as it revealed the truth about Planned Parenthood. It is always a joy to defend the preborn, especially on the sidewalk in front of our nation’s largest abortion provider. Jacksonville Planned Parenthood, your days are numbered!”

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Colorado Springs Campaign for Abortion Free Cities partnered with Sidewalk Advocates for Life and 40 Days for Life in a powerful march in front of the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood. In addition, the night before, a group of eight passionate pro-life advocates—including members of the Colorado Springs Coalition and other local organizations—came together to assemble our 1076 cross display.

Around 80 people were gathered to pray and walk in defense of life. This event was not without a little drama, as there were more than 10 counter-protestors. Even though there was conflict, the atmosphere remained uplifting.

One of the participants, Veronica, shared her experience:

“The entire march, I was praying for God to show the Planned Parenthood people His love, and I couldn’t believe it when I realized He used me to show that love to a few of the ladies. The Holy Spirit was truly at work that day, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.”

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Clifton Park, New York

Clifton Park Campaign for Abortion Free Cities leader Alfonso Oliveras constructed his own stringed cross display, leading his event directly in front of the Schenectady Planned Parenthood. More than a dozen volunteers from local churches, pregnancy help centers, Right to Life, and 40 Days for Life joined him to stand as a powerful witness to the heartbreaking reality: Planned Parenthood ends the lives of 1,076 children every single day.

“It was a great sense of community among those participating as well as those walking by and driving by that expressed support,” stated Alfonoso. “This past month, the historic Manhattan Planned Parenthood was sold and will be shutting its doors. We can only hope that, in time, upstate New Yorkers will also be able to celebrate the Schenectady Planned Parenthood closing its doors.”

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Miami, Florida

“This event went so well! We were able to engage with community members, explaining to them what the display meant. Most were receptive and supportive; people driving by also honked and waved in support!” – Mia Akins, Miami Campaign for Abortion Free Cities leader. With three total campaigns in Florida and Amendment 4′s failure, the pro-life movement is clearly gaining traction. What can’t the pro-life generation do!”

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Portland, Oregon

We led a very successful Defund Planned Parenthood ACROSS America event in front of the Beaverton Planned Parenthood.” The Portland Campaign for Abortion Free Cities had over 20 volunteers bear witness during their life chain. They proudly held their 1076 pink crosses in the rain as they let their neighbors know that not only is there a strong pro-life impact in Portland, but also the reality behind the “influence” of Planned Parenthood.

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Waxhaw, North Carolina

What a great way to start a campaign! Our leader of the Waxhaw Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, Nora Henkel, embodies the adage “go big or go home.” Together with her amazing group of local volunteers, she determined that the Life Chain would be the event to kick-start the pro-life momentum in their community.

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in York, Pennsylvania

Our York Campaign for Abortion Free City leader Jim Fitzgerald hosted his 1076 cross display outside of Congressman Lloyd Smucker’s office. His team, who was also joined by Representative Wendy Fink, thanked Congressman Smucker for his consistent and continual pro-life support. This was the first event the York Campaign for Abortion Free Cities led, and they’re excited to do even more in the future!

Campaign for Abortion Free Cities in Spokane, Washington

“Word travels fast in Spokane. The Spokane Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, alongside the Knights of Columbus, Sidewalk Advocates for Life, 40 Days for Life, Gonzaga University Students for Life, and local community members, came together to make an impact.” – Kaylynn McClimans, AFC Spokane Campaign leader.

The Spokane campaign also built their own set of stringed crosses, and what a gift it was—not only did it expose the abortion industry’s goliath, Planned Parenthood, and the truth of the lives lost, but it also served as a powerful moment of unity for so many other organizations.

Honorable Mention: Does Planned Parenthood Get ANYTHING Right?

While advocating for Life at an Ohio Planned Parenthood, Ohio Regional Coordinator Nicholas Chec noted a Planned Parenthood sign that was literally wrong about everything.

Chec laughed, “They say, ‘It’s sunny, it’s 9 a.m., and they do healthcare.’ But in reality, it was raining, they had the time wrong because of the time change, and abortion is definitely not healthcare.”
