Planned Parenthood, Other Pro-Abortion Groups Get Paid with the Proceeds

IRVINE, C.A. (08-29-2026) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) team members and students will make their way to Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Musical Festival at Great Park in Irvine, California this Saturday, August 29, with signs in hand to protest the event’s funding of Planned Parenthood, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and other abortion-pushing organizations. 

Accompanied by stars like Chappell Roan, Katseye, Sarah McLachlan, and Stevie Nicks, Rodrigo organized the all-woman lineup after complaining about Planned Parenthood’s year-long federal defunding by the Trump Administration. Despite the Abortion Goliath receiving restored federal funding on America’s 250th birthday and raking in millions of dollars, the show is going on.

“Planned Parenthood just received millions of dollars in government funding, and yet these celebrities want to raise even more funds, to keep women from becoming mothers,” said SFLA President Kristan Hawkins. “This isn’t about raising money to support women and girls; this is about ending as many preborn children’s lives as possible through abortion, no matter the harms of abortion experienced by the women Rodrigo claims to care about.”

Rodrigo is known for spreading pro-abortion misinformation and materials. The pop star previously handed out Plan B pills at her concerts, including at one concert in a state that does not allow abortion. Plan B, while marketed as a post-intercourse contraceptive, is widely known to function as an abortifacient as well.

Rodrigo has been on a media blitz with one of the festival’s beneficiaries, the Center for Reproductive Rights, spreading misinformation about the safety of mifepristone, the first of two pills taken in a chemical abortion.

Festival backlash doesn’t end at pro-abortion propaganda. Rodrigo’s abortion-supporting event is expected to flood the area with 45,000 people at a venue designed to hold only 10,000, causing major disruptions and safety concerns.

SFLA has been calling for the debarment of Planned Parenthood, which would prevent the abortion vendor from qualifying for any federal funding.
