“While FEMA’s chaos has resulted in many individuals, families, and parents struggling in Western North Carolina and the surrounding areas, Pro-Life Generation’s Standing With You joins the plethora of hardworking community members with practical help for affected,” said Director of Strategic Initiatives Michele Venditto. “Tone-deaf as always, abortion radicals complain about the ‘lack of abortion access’ because of Helene. There’s been enough death already. The Pro-Life Generation stands with pregnant and parenting mothers, serving the most vulnerable and delivering resources and supplies to mothers, families, and children. Our prayers continue to be with Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton victims.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (10-11-2024) – As people in Western North Carolina, Florida’s Gulf Coast, Greenville, South Carolina, and Damascus, Virginia, pick up the pieces from Hurricane Helene’s destruction, Standing With You (SWY) is stepping up to assist Pregnancy Help Centers (PHC) in North Carolina where buildings and supply closets have been demolished, destroying desperately needed supplies for mothers and children. While some centers are rescuing displaced children and caring for them until they can be reunited with family, SWY is calling on the Pro-Life Generation (PLG) to raise money for needed resources. With the fallout from Hurricane Milton still unknown, plans for help to those communities will be announced later.

Regarding South Carolina, donations are being accepted until Monday, Oct. 18. The funds will also directly support Ascend Women’s Center, which had to cancel its annual fundraiser this year—usually raising around $80,000 to $90,000.

“We’ve received direct reports from local Pregnancy Help Centers that they’re in dire need of resources for mothers and children, and not just those who regularly come to the centers,” said Venditto. “While ‘Only Hope,’ an organization that serves homeless children, still has their building with power, Hurricane Helene created water damage and extreme difficulty accessing basic needs. They are dangerously low supplies of food and electrolytes like juice or Gatorade. With your help, we can deliver desperately needed supplies and keep donations coming.”

One center, Open Arms Pregnancy Center, shared the impact of the loss, writing, “We lost 26 new car seats and a lot of clothes and other baby supplies that were in storage at another location. We just found out it was flooded. Our phones have been in and out, too.”

In addition to SFLA/SFLAction, PLG leads multiple initiatives to lead and serve the future of the pro-life movement including the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, Standing With You, and the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement . Over more than 17 years, PLG CEO Kristan Hawkins has grown the operation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.
