Pro-Life Groups To Lobby in Colorado Against Late-Term Abortions

“Ending abortions when babies feel pain is a great start to protecting the dignity of all preborn babies,” said SFLA’s Christina Coffman.

DENVER, CO and FREDERICKSBURG, VA (2-10-2020)– Pro-life groups, including Students for Life Action, will be rallying at the state capitol in Denver on Tuesday, February 11th, in support of HB20-1098, which would prohibit late-term abortions in the state.

Christina Coffman, the Rocky Mountains Regional Coordinator for Students for Life and a Colorado resident said in a statement, “Most Americans want to see abortion limited at least when the babies can feel pain. We are energized to help protect preborn babies.”

“The pro-life generation rejects the violence of abortion and wants to see an end to abortion in our lifetime. Ending abortions when babies feel pain is a great start to protecting the dignity of all preborn babies.”

The event begins at 12 p.m. Inside the west end of the capitol.

Speakers include Lo Castillo of Students for Life and John Ebel of Due Too Late, the group pushing for an end to late-term abortions in Colorado.

Castillo, who is also a spokesman for Due Too Late, added, “In Colorado abortion is legal up to the moment of birth. 74% of Americans believe there should be limitations on abortion and 80% agree on limiting late abortions. We are here representing the majority of Coloradans, asking legislators in the Colorado house to allow for a fair vote on those limitations today.”

A recent medical journal paper found that babies may even be able to feel pain as early as twelve weeks. You can read more about that here.
