Ball State Students for Life Achieves Major Victory!: MUNCIE, IN and FREDERICKSBURG, VA (8-16-18)--
Ball State Students for Life achieved a major victory recently by working with Ball State Student Government Association to implement new expectant mother parking permits for this upcoming school year. The new legislation will allow pregnant mothers to park closer to academic buildings on campus, according to Nora Hopf, the president of Ball State Students for Life during the 2017-2018 school year and a recent graduate. Hopf worked alongside SGA to ensure the new policy was implemented.
Hopf stated, “After building relationships with many student parents over my four year experience at Ball State University, I discovered how important small accommodations can be in the success of parenting students. They have expressed their concerns and as an advocate I made sure their voices didn't fall on deaf ears.”
Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America praised Hopf and Ball State SFL’s work saying, “Ball State Students for Life is a great example of the work that Students for Life groups do every single day to advocate for a pro-life culture on their campuses. Ball State University should be commended for taking the right steps to ensure their campuses welcome pregnant students by making it easier for them to get to their classes and feel welcomed. This change is a commonsense policy that we want to see at every campus across the country.”
