On October 14, I hosted a recruitment tabling event at Mott Community College, in collaboration with their Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter. This girl signed up for the club but hesitated to tell me she just found out last week that she was pregnant.

After I packed up and was about to leave, I was walking back into Mott Community College to use the restroom when the girl approached and said she had texted me that she was pregnant and not sure what to do. I hadn’t checked my phone in a little while, so this was when I first learned she’s pregnant and considering abortion. She had just emailed the Head of the Women’s Studies Department the day before, asking for any resources related to abortion, pregnancy, or parenting, since she didn’t know of anywhere else to find resources. She said abortion goes against her values, but at the same time, was still considering abortion because her family was pressuring her into it, and because she lacked the finances to provide for a child.
I immediately invited her to walk with me to my car. I opened the trunk, handed her a Standing With You (SWY) brochure, walked her through all the different resources and hotlines, and even went on the website with her to find the nearest Pregnancy Help Center (PHC). She said encountering me at a pro-life table was a sign from God, hugged me, then promised to call the PHC right away and keep me updated. She booked an appointment at that PHC for the very next day and found out she’s 12 weeks along, with a due date of April 28 — the feast day of Saint Gianna Molla, patron saint of preborn children and mothers! What a God wink!

The following week, she had a second appointment at that PHC, where she received an ultrasound and got to see her baby jumping around in the womb. Because of the free ultrasound she received at the PRC, she was able to cancel her hospital ultrasound appointment. She texted me, “With your first direction to seek different resources, I have been discovering them left & right.. I received my first onesie and am going to be joining a support group with embrace grace soon! Are you familiar with them?!”
When I offered to throw her a baby shower, she responded that Embrace Grace had already offered to throw one and had sent her a box full of supplies. How incredible is the pro-life support network! I will now be having a conjoined baby shower with Embrace Grace, and many friends have already offered to donate baby supplies and buy from the registry when the baby shower happens in a few months.
What makes this even more special is the fact that I encountered this girl on Charlie Kirk‘s birthday, while I was collaborating with a TPUSA group. It definitely makes me wonder if Charlie was interceding for us from Heaven that day, orchestrating this baby saving.
