“The irony of abortion zealots calling themselves ‘tolerant’ and ‘pro-woman’ while sending death threats to a young woman they disagree with would be laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins. “Still, this proves what Students for Life of America continues to hammer home: abortion supporters don’t practice what they preach. They don’t care about women or children; they preach and advocate for death, whether it’s the death of children in the womb or threatening death to pro-life women. As America prepares for President-elect Donald Trump to take office, we hope he immediately acts to protect pro-life free speech and security concerns, whether on campus, in front of abortion facilities, on social media, or unjustly sitting in prison.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (11-14-2024) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins announced that despite the violence of abortion extremists, the “Abortion is Violence” fall campus tour with Student Spokesperson Lydia Taylor Davis will continue with enhanced security, including private security, additional police, metal detectors, bag checks, and prohibiting signs with sticks. “Whatever happened to ‘I’m with her?” said Hawkins. “Free speech isn’t free at the cost of safety and social media banning. When abortion leftists don’t get their way in an election, they throw a violent fit, which has, as a repercussion, lost opportunities for engagement. A Heckler’s Veto cannot be allowed to stop human rights advocacy for mothers and preborn children.”
Just two days after President-elect Donald Trump won the presidency by a landslide, abortion-supporting leftists abandoned their “tolerance” and “love all women” mantra in exchange for vitriol hatred against Davis during her fall campus tour stop at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Approximately 200 students mobbed her educational display table, stole fliers, and took rubber fetal models, eventually leading to the arrest of one student by campus police. Pro-abortion students threatened Davis’ life through their campus’ Yik Yak account, telling her to “eat the curb,” instructing others to “bring weapons,” and calling her an “evil bitch.” This all took place as a known Antifa member posted the mob on X (formerly Twitter), while others sent vial direct messages to her Instagram account, wishing that she’d get “railed to death,” telling her to “kill herself,” and hoping that she’d “get raped.”
The vitriol extended to social media, where abortion zealots then worked to get Davis’ personal social media accounts, which she uses to educate tens of thousands of young people about abortion, banned. As a result, TikTok banned her account after continuous reporting from pro-abortion students, and VCU security escorted her off her campus due to safety concerns.
Davis plans to finish her speaking tour at Winthrop University on Thursday, Nov. 14, with additional security despite credible threats to her life.
“It’s not shocking that those who advocate for silencing the preborn would silence anyone who tried to speak for them,” said Davis, recounting the experience as disappointing but unsurprising. “The ire of the Left falls upon the pro-life movement, and the new Trump administration should defend our rights. Meanwhile, despite the threats, I won’t be silenced. I will continue to speak for the preborn and fight for their right to live.”
This isn’t the first time SFLA encountered obstacles across college campuses or wild protests at VCU. During SFLA President Kristan Hawkins’ “Lies Pro-Choicers Believe” 2023 spring tour with Isabel Brown, pro-life speaker and podcaster, they visited VCU, where ANTIFA showed up and disrupted their speech.

Last spring, Davis held her “Not Your Body, Not Your Choice” speaking tour and experienced bloody babies chucked during her speech, threats to set her table on fire, and pro-abortion sticky notes covering her speech room entrance. However, meaningful conversations still took place and changed minds.

“We’re grateful that VCU police ensured our safety and the safety of those who wanted to participate in a civil discussion,” said Davis. “One pro-life man worked through the mob and thanked me for being here. All these protestors are communicating to me and my peers that the pro-abortion movement is not a movement of love: at the end of the day, it’s filled with hatred of the preborn, which spills out to those who defend their lives in the womb. We hope bystanders watching on campus or our social media can clearly see that.”
