Hey President Biden,
It’s us, Students for Life of America (SFLA). You may have seen us in an amicus brief or two. If you can remember when the U.S. Supreme Court heard the U.S. Food & Drug Administration v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine this March challenging the FDA’s approval of mifepristone, the one of a two-part abortion drug regimen, you know where we stand on its harmful effects on women, preborn babies, and the environment.
We haven’t been saying it for a couple of months – we’ve been saying and acting on this for years. We’ve filed multiple citizens petitions. We’ve released articles. And yes, we’ve written the EPA.
Since your inauguration in 2021, your administration and abortion supporting Democrats have turned a blind eye to the potential environmental impacts of flushing medical waste down the toilet. Instead, you’ve given Americans pockets of false hope to hang on to.

First, it’s plain to see that your “green energy efforts” are failing. As the Wall Street Journal reported, the cost of electricity has climbed by 29.4% since you took office in January 2021. While you’ve been using America’s oil reserve and refusing to restock due to the $85 a barrel cost of oil, you’re going forth with your Earth Day action of blocking drilling in Alaska.
Your promises are paradoxical. While you and Harris announce $20 billion towards clean energy, climate solutions, and lower energy costs, you’re doing the exact opposite.

Prices have gone up and Chemical Abortion Pills are more accessible than ever, only increasing environmental concerns. The EPA’s half step of enacting the first national limit on forever chemical in drinking water EXCLUDING abortion pollution from Chemical Abortion Pills doesn’t satisfy us, and neither do buzzword statements.
“President Biden and Vice President Harris believe that every person should have access to clean drinking water and a healthy environment,” wrote the White House in a press statement. “The Administration committed more than $1 billion to the effort, which will, among other things, be used to restore freshwater habitat.”
We wish we could believe that. If you don’t even take concerns about fish seriously, that “forever chemicals” are being found in them according to a KFF Health News report, how are we to believe you care about the health of Americans, born and preborn?
There’s no amount of saying “environmental justice,” “climate change,” and “clean energy initiatives” that’s going to change that.
Unless…
…You put real action to your words. Here’s the reason we’ve already mentioned here and for years about how abortion effects the earth:
With Chemical Abortion Pills on the rise thanks to your No Test Online Distribution of these drugs, that means more medical waste, tissue, and placenta flushed down the toilet. EPA’s sluggish response to the clean water crisis should’ve included mifepristone for tracking. EPA informed us in a letter that, “The EPA anticipates issuing the final Regulatory Determinations from the most recent Contaminant Candidate List by March 2026 and publishing the next iteration of the Contaminant Candidate List in November 2026.”
We want the Biden-Harris Administration to take the environment seriously: start tracking Chemical Abortion Pills in our waterways.
Earth Day was started in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson “as a way to force this issue onto the national agenda,” as said by the EPA’s own description.
“It may be hard to imagine that before 1970, a factory could spew black clouds of toxic smoke into the air or dump tons of toxic waste into a nearby stream, and that was perfectly legal,” states the EPA. “They could not be taken to court to stop it.”
Sadly, it’s still perfectly legal. Chemical Abortion Pills are being sold at CVS and Walgreens and online, only increasing the concerns for everyone. Babies deserve to be loved and not flushed down the toilet, and everyone deserves clean drinking water.
So Biden, what do you say? We hope you take real action this Earth Day and stop ignoring abortion pollution.
Sincerely,
Students for Life
