Over 1,500 Pro-Lifers Tell Speaker Pelosi To Stop Funding Abortions Using Taxpayer Dollars

Over 1,500 pro-lifers have sent over 5,000 e-mails to their elected officials urging Speaker Pelosi to stop trying to use coronavirus funding to fund abortions. Speaker Pelosi is trying to use coronavirus legislation to increase the flow of taxpayer dollars to the nation’s largest abortion vendor, Planned Parenthood.

As the Digital Action Center page starts, “Speaker Pelosi is trying to exploit the coronavirus crisis to increase funding for abortions and direct more of your taxpayer-dollars to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. We must stop her! Legislation currently pending in the U.S. House, H.R. 6800, is supposed to help people afflicted by the coronavirus crisis–but Speaker Pelosi wants to hijack the bill to fund abortions!

This spring, Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry have selfishly hoarded personal protective equipment and have continued to commit abortions and, even, open new abortion facilities, exploiting the current crisis for their own monetary gain.”

H.R. 6800, also known as the HEROES Act, is still pending in the Senate. Pro-lifers do not want to see more of their taxpayer dollars go to Planned Parenthood.

Rachel Summa, Government Affairs Fellow for Students for Life, commented on the grassroots activism of pro-lifers, noting that it shows that pro-lifers are paying attention to Congress.

“The Pro-Life Movement will not let Speaker Pelosi exploit the coronavirus crisis to push her pro-abortion agenda. Most Americans do not want their taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, but Speaker Pelosi is trying to cater to her donor and activist base by exploiting the crisis,” Summa stated.

A poll by our own Institute for Pro-Life Advancement found that Millennials, by a 3 to 1 margin, want their taxpayer dollars to go to federally-qualified health centers, not Planned Parenthood.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, discussed 7 ways that the abortion industry is trying to exploit the coronavirus. This episode was filmed only a few weeks after social distancing guidelines were put in place, so the list has likely grown since then!
