The millions of lives lost to abortion in our country remain an enormous tragedy, and I find it especially tragic that so many women who have abortions don’t even want them.  

In one recent study by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), 67% of women described their abortions as unwanted, coerced, or inconsistent with their values and preferences.  

Here’s the bright side: vast numbers of these women will choose Life if they have more support from others. The pro-life movement stands ready to provide support through thousands of Pregnancy Help Centers (PHCs), churches, and charitable projects. The challenge for us is to raise awareness of these life-affirming resources, so that more women find them before it’s too late.  

I was a teenager when I came to understand this reality. While abortion had seemed like a “far-off” problem before, I realized that women in my own community were facing this painful choice, often under intense pressure and lacking essential facts. As a believer in Christ, I felt that I could —and should —do something. I started making pro-life bumper stickers and offering them for FREE to pro-life people and churches.  

Each bumper sticker shares a positive message, encouraging women to “Choose Life!” and promoting OptionLine.org for pregnancy help. OptionLine is run by Heartbeat International, which offers 24/7 counseling (English and Spanish) and an interactive map that helps women find pregnancy resources in their area.  

Bumper stickers require very low cost and effort, but I really believe they can save lives. If a person drives regularly and 20 people see the stickers each day, that’s over 7,000 views a year. If just one of those people is a woman facing a difficult pregnancy (or perhaps her boyfriend, family member, or friend), imagine the difference it could make.  

I knew much less about the pro-life movement when I started this project, but I was blessed to have a strong parish and good pro-life mentors who helped me. I began attending pro-life meetings and events in my state of Massachusetts, sharing bumper stickers while also learning rapidly. I formed relationships with wonderful people and got involved in 40 Days for Life and Students for Life of America – of which I’m now a group president!  

My bumper sticker ministry received another boost in 2023 when I launched the website  ProLifeStickers.com. Since then, I’ve promoted the site through Catholic radio and various news channels, including a recent feature article published by American Life League and LifeSiteNews! Thanks in large part to the website and increased publicity, I have now shared over 10,000 bumper stickers with people in 45 out of 50 U.S. States!
