As the 2024-2025 academic year comes to a close,  Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be awarding several outstanding Students for Life groups with Best New Group, Best High School Group, Best College Group, and Best Standing With You (SWY) Group distinctions – and you get to help us choose which groups deserve these awards! ARCH Homeschool Students for Life has been nominated for the best High School Group of the Year Award.

The winning group from each category, selected by the Pro-Life Generation (PLG), will receive a certificate, a shoutout on our national social media accounts, and a $300 donation to help expand the group’s efforts further next school year.

About the Group

ARCH Students for Life was established in 2017 and has more than 40 active members. This year, the group hosted over 20 events, including our fall tour display at the Frederick in the Streets fair, where they had over 100 conversations. The group also joined SFLA outside of the U.S. Supreme Court in April to pray and be a pro-life presence during the oral arguments for Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic.

Groups are nominated for the High School Group of the Year award for going above and beyond in the Five Pillars of Pro-Life Activism in the 2024-2025 academic year.

ARCH Homeschool Students for Life’s Top Accomplishments in the 2024-2025 Academic Year

Adopting Two Moms

This year, ARCH Students for Life “adopted” two moms in need. For one single mom, they coordinated gifts to ensure that Christmas was special for her and her baby. With the help of 15 donors, ARCH provided this mom with many items she needed: diapers, wipes, toys, clothes, and more. For another expecting mother, they organized and hosted a baby shower. Nearly 40 community members showed up to shower this mom with love and support.

Fundraising for Birthright

ARCH Students for Life organized a dance fundraiser to raise money for Birthright, their local Pregnancy Help Center (PHC). With over 80 people in attendance, this group raised $500 for Birthright. In addition to the dance fundraiser, they partnered with EveryLife Co. to raise money and diapers for needy mothers. They raised $7,000, enough to purchase two pallets of diapers and two pallets of wipes.

Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic Oral Arguments

In April, ARCH Students for Life mobilized quickly, sending five members to attend the (abruptly-announced) hearing of the oral arguments of the Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic Supreme Court Case. There, they joined SFLA staff in creating a prayerful, pro-life presence where it was desperately needed. For all ARCH members, this was an incredibly unique experience. They witnessed firsthand the divide between life and death and received insight into how pro-life laws and ideals are implemented.

COMING SOON IN 2025-2026…

ARCH Homeschool Students for Life hopes to continue their leadership by showing the beauty of motherhood, increasing their support of their local pregnancy centers, and educating people about the truth of abortion during the 2025-2026 academic year. They plan to expand their presence at their PHC by contributing more volunteer hours and increase their time spent praying and doing sidewalk advocacy outside their Planned Parenthood.
