Stay tuned for an exclusive video interview with Miss Mission Georgia USA, Abigail Mongillo.

As a pageant queen, my work in pageantry shows promotes the pro-life value that moms can do it all.

Believe it or not, more women are now boldly sharing pro-life values in different ways, no matter what the world thinks. Christabella Garcia openly spoke about her work with Students for Life of America (SFLA) and won the People’s Choice Award. Now another pageant queen is sharing her passion about life-affirming values in an exclusive interview.

I sat down with Abigail Mongillo, Miss Mission Georgia USA, about her pageant platform that focuses on adoption—and she truly walks the walk.

She and her family are not only dedicated to helping other families adopt—adoption is also a personal part of her story, as five of her siblings were adopted.

“When we first met [my brother’s] birth mom, there was a moment in time when she considered an abortion,” she told Students for Life of America. “She quickly removed that from her mind.”

Abigail said that when a woman chooses an adoption, that mother is not giving up.

“She’s saying, ‘even if I cannot raise this child, this child still deserves life,’” she continued.

It is a “deeply dignifying act” for a woman to have her child be adopted. It truly is a gift for the child and the mother.

She believes more can be done to help families who are considering adoption, and she is honored to partner Adoption-Share, a resource shared by Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) initiative Standing With You (SWY).

Mongillo believes the Adoption-Share model has made the process faster, more data-driven, and child-centered.

The organization offers Family Match, a tool that helps child welfare professionals assess how well prospective adoptive parents align with children in foster care that are still waiting for a forever family.

“By using their matching program, workers have been able to find families a whole lot faster, especially for children who need them the most,” she said. “Not just let’s find a home for this kid, it’s let’s find a home that will actually match what this child needs.”

Abigail pointed out that only 1/3rd of American adults have considered adopting, but unfortunately, only around 2% to 4% actually do,” she said citing Adoption Network and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

She discussed solutions from expanding financial assistance, raising awareness about adoption tax credits, how families should know that adopting from the state is virtually free, and simplifying the legal process.

“Many families would consider adoption and have even told me personally they would consider adoption,” she continued.

She also believes there needs to be better post adoption services and whether that looks like counseling and guiding families to help adoptive families “thrive better with the adopted child.”

For Abigail, adoption offers a concrete way to support life through every chapter of a child’s journey no matter their age.

She emphasized the heart of protecting Life and advocating for adoption: “Every child, no matter their age or background, deserves to know they are deeply loved, and they’re deeply wanted.”

In a world where the sanctity of life is often overlooked, Abigail stands out as a bold advocate for life-affirming values and a role model of compassion & conviction—living out her beliefs through meaningful action.
