Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) third National Celebrate Life Weekend kicked off in a smashing, successful fashion.   

Not only was it a celebration of Roe v. Wade’s reversal in 2022, but a continued reminder that the Pro-Life Generation’s (PLG) work is far from over. As advocacy for Life at the grassroots level, the theme we hammered over the entire week was to call on Congress to defund Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion. The Pro-Life Movement does more than talk. We act. 

The Pro-Life Generation set an ambitious goal to fundraise money for 392,715 EveryLife diapers, the number of diapers representing the lives Planned Parenthood eliminated in a year according to their 2022-2023 annual report, the most current math available when the diaper drive began. In their recently released 2023-24 annual report, Planned Parenthood reported that the number of abortions they commit annually rose to more than 402,000.  

SFLA and SFLAction made sure everyone knew, and sure enough, the media caught on.

“A coalition of pro-life advocacy groups plan to mount the largest diaper drive in America over the weekend on Capitol Hill. Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins cited Planned Parenthood’s 2022-23 annual abortion count as the inspiration behind the drive. “After a successful 2024 event, the Celebrate Life Weekend returns June 27–29 for three days of events that mark the anniversary of the June 24, 2022, decision and encourage ‘the pro-life generation to fight for equal rights for all — born and preborn — through the 14th Amendment,’ according to the Students for Life of America (SFLA) website.” 

National Review: Is Planned Parenthood the Loser Now? 

“There are several events — including Celebrate Life with the organizations Students for Life, And Then There Were None, Sidewalk Advocates for Life, and others (and Riley Gaines, with child, will be there) — in Washington, D.C., this weekend.”
