Charlotte Swannack is a junior in high school, president of Our Lady of Guadalupe Students for Life, and a Students for Life Action State Captain.

In a remarkable show of community support, I witnessed my group, Our Lady of Guadalupe Students for Life, raise $5,179 in partnership with a local Catholic Church to support our local Pregnancy Help Center (PHC), Birthchoice.

Birthchoice serves women and families in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is located right behind Woman’s Choice, the abortion facility for the greater Raleigh area. Because of Birthchoice’s strategically placed location, they help save the lives of countless babies, as they are the first place a mother is directed to when they decide to walk out of their appointment. Birthchoice offers many resources for pregnant women, including free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and free post-abortive counseling.

In addition to funding Birthchoice, our group’s baby bottle drive educated the community about the abundance of resources that Pregnancy Help Centers offer to expectant mothers and families in the Raleigh area. Through this education, we saw the positive impact of individuals questioning their beliefs about the pro-life movement as they realized that the Pro-Life Generation (PLG) cares about the mother’s health and well-being and will walk with her through pregnancy. Additionally, through our joyful witness to life, we recruited a new member to join the club and two adults to join the church’s respect life committee.

The success of this baby bottle drive proves how powerful community efforts can be in supporting life-affirming resources. I would encourage all pro-lifers to support their local Pregnancy Health Center (PHC) by hosting a fundraiser, volunteering at the clinic, or simply educating them about the resources they offer to mothers. No matter how small, these efforts can help save lives, change minds, and provide essential care to women in need. Together, we can continue to support mothers and protect the preborn.
