Georgia Doctors Stop the Abortion Fearmongering – Physicians CAN Save Women’s Lives, and Chemical Abortion DOES Cause DEATH

After the recent U.S. Senate Committee of Finance hearing where the deaths of two Georgia moms, most notable Amber Thurman, were blamed on pro-life laws, three Georgia doctors came out of the woods to boldly state the truth – pro-life laws don’t kill women, Chemical Abortion Pills, too.

They didn’t come out of the nowhere woods. They hold very prominent positions in government and American health. Chair of the Board of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists Christina A. Cirucci wrote an insightful and evidence-based op-ed on the harms of Chemical Abortion Pills, which cause infertility, physical and mental harm, and death, which is a far cry from what Dr. Amelia Huntsberger testified to.

“Abortion is safe. Abortion is healthcare,” Huntsberger proclaimed in her testimony. “Abortion is time-sensitive and at times is necessary to protect patients’ health and lives.”

However, Cirucci obliterates Huntsberger’s wildly echoed pro-abortion talking point, citing that the rise of Chemical Abortion Pills has come with removed safety guards. This includes the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) allowing mail-in pills by sites like AidAccess and doing prescreening for any preexisting health issues before giving a woman these deadly drugs. All of this is being stripped away in the name of “abortion access.” Cirucci writes in Newsweek:

“Most concerning of all, abortion advocates encourage women to self-manage their abortions—women like 41-year-old Candi Miller, who tragically died after ordering her pills online, taking them at home, and not seeking medical care at all. Candi had high blood pressure, diabetes, and lupus—all conditions that increase a woman’s risk in pregnancy.”

While Huntsberger advocates for more abortion access, she’s rubber-stamping hazardous conditions for women to be taking these pills. As Cirucci stated, and as Students for Life of America (SFLA) has said numerous times, “Compared with surgical abortion, abortion by drugs has almost four times the overall risk of complications. This includes nearly eight times the risk of hemorrhage and over four times the risk of retained tissue, the complication that Amber suffered.” (emphasis added)

Two Georgia lawmakers and Emergency Room (ER) doctors, Rep. Mark Newton and U.S. Rep. Rich McCormick, spoke to the fact that the law doesn’t prevent doctors from performing D&Cs for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies in Georgia.

“In my understanding, is, this baby was already in demise. There was no reason that it had anything to do with whether she could have a D&C or not. That’s actually irrelevant to the baby’s life because the baby’s already gone,” McCormick told FoxNews. “If the heartbeat stopped, it’s not about this law. Remember, it has nothing to do with this law at that point. It has everything to do with doing the best care for the woman.”

Newton implied that Georgia physicians should understand the law that saving the life of the mother is critical, especially if the preborn child is already gone.

“I do not think there’s anything in Georgia’s law, unless someone had a complete misunderstanding or just failed to be aware of what Georgia’s law was, has nothing to do with the timing of the decision-making,” Newton told FoxNews. “This situation in which the woman presented was clearly a medical or a life-threatening emergency.”

In the hearing, Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford’s questioning of Heather G. Hacker solidified the dangers of chemical abortion and exposed the fearmongering around physicians saving a woman’s life.

So, maybe instead of creating strawmen around abortion and what a physician can do, it’s time the media and pro-abortion lawmakers generate awareness around a real fear – chemical abortion.
