Pro-Life Billboard Truck Accompanies to Educate All of Steubenville, Ohio
“Lives are on the ballot in Ohio, and voters deserve to understand the enormity of that —which is why we are coming to make sure every Franciscan University student is out to the polls to vote NO on Issue 1 in November,” said Students for Life Action President Hawkins. “The abortion lobby thrives in darkness, but Students for Life of America’s “Abortion on the Ballot” Campus Tour is ripping the blindfold off and exposing their extremism.”

Steubenville, OH (10-02-2023) – TODAY, as the fight for life in Ohio rages on until November, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) and Students for Life of America (SFLA)President Kristan Hawkins will be joining the SFLA “Late-Term Abortion on The Ballot” Ohio Fall Campus Tour at Franciscan University on October 2, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at the Rosary Circle outside J.C. Williams Center.
Hawkins will be tabling with SFLA Regional Coordinator Jamie Scherdin (recently featured in The New York Times for Ohio grassroots work) to expose Issue 1 as abortion extremism, encourage students and register new voters to vote “NO,” and remind the campus that life is always worth protecting.
A pro-life billboard truck, in collaboration with Created Equal, will also be roaming the Franciscan campus and Steubenville in general. The truck will be showcasing two different graphics: one reading “Save Lives. Vote No on Issue One” and another other reading “Late-Term Abortion is on the Ballot in Ohio.” For media interested in the truck’s route, reach out to [email protected]
The “Late-Term Abortion on The Ballot” Ohio Fall Campus Tour will make nearly 25 stops (and counting) before Election Day in November. Upcoming locations include the University of Findlay on October 3; the University of Cincinnati on October 4; and Miami University on October 11.
The purpose of this tour is to educate and register new voters before the upcoming abortion ballot initiative on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. If Issue One passes, the changes to the state constitution will:
- Prohibit any attempt to “burden, penalize, prohibit, interfere with, or discriminate” against abortion.
- Establish a “right” to sterilizing treatments, by saying that “reproductive decisions” must be allowed.
- Attack parental involvement and notification by defining a “right” for “individuals” to get abortions, meaning citizens of all ages.
- Ensure that any “person” that “assists” an “individual” to get an abortion, or receive sterilizing surgery, or exposure to irreversible hormones will be protected against prosecution.
- Prevent criminal prosecution of instances where abortion is used to cover up crimes like rape.
- Open the door to Ohioans’ tax money being used to pay for abortion.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), make up the nation’s largest, pro-life youth organization, managing a political and policy operation engaging Americans of all ages but with a special emphasis on the largest segment of voters — the Youth Vote. Together they provide political, legal, educational, and community support for women and children, born and preborn. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA serves more than 1,400 groups on middle, high school, college, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. SFLA and SFLAction have more conversations with this generation targeted by the abortion lobby than any other pro-life operation in the world, each week reaching more than 4 million across social media platforms and averaging 1.3 million video views. SFLA has also launched multiple initiatives to lead and serve the future of the pro-life movement including the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, Standing With You, and the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement . Over more than 17 years, President Kristan Hawkins has grown SFLAction/SFLA and the Pro-Life Generation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.
