“As we see some pro-abortion churches like the United Church of Christ proclaim abortion as healthcare, it’s more important than ever for our religious communities to lean into the Biblical mandates to serve mothers in need. In our second Standing with Her Sunday, leaders will call on churches to embrace services to the least of these,” said Students for Life of America Executive Vice President Tina Whittington. “Young families need church leaders to inspire their communities in love and in service. Standing With Her Sunday is an excellent way to kickstart this effort wherever you worship.”

FREDERICKSBURG, V.A. and WASHINGTON D.C. (07-21-2023) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) will host its second, national simulcast called “Standing with Her Sunday” on August 27, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. ET. Coming live from Fredericksburg, Virginia, the event will be available to churches, small groups, and individuals of all religious leanings across the nation, featuring pro-life speakers emphasizing the active role religious bodies must take to support women in unplanned pregnancies.

Whittington said, “As religious communities, it’s not enough to just know that we believe something and sit by quietly while the tragedy of abortion ensues. Holding beliefs and living them out are entirely different. We must both speak up and offer a hand up to women and families in need.”

Speakers will include SFLA President Kristan Hawkins, Kelly Lester of ProLove Ministries, pro-life advocate Toni McFadden, Sidewalk Advocates for Life Senior Regional Programs Manager Susan O’Neill, and SFLA Senior Ambassador Autumn Higashi, among others to be announced.

Organizational partners for this event include Abortion Pill Rescue Network, Alliance Defending Freedom, Embrace Grace, Focus on the Family, The Paul Stefan Foundation, Heartbeat International, Sidewalk Advocates for Life, Support After Abortion, Vitae Foundation, the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, and Standing With You.

Following the event, resources for churches prepared by the participating organizations will be distributed to all who register. For more information or to register for a watch party, click HERE.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), make up the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization and a political and policy operation engaging people of all ages. Together they work to end abortion — the human rights issue of our day — and provide political, legal, and community support for women and their children, born and preborn. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA has more than 1,400 groups on middle, high school, college, university, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. SFLA creates strategy, policy, and programming to connect those most targeted for abortion with people ready to help and builds a framework for political engagement on their behalf. SFLA and SFLAction have more conversations with those most targeted by the abortion industry than any other pro-life outreach in the world, reaching more than 2 million people across social media platforms each week and engaging in approximately 100,000 digital conversations per month. Over more than 16 years, President Kristan Hawkins has grown SFLAction/SFLA into an $18 million organization preparing for a Post-Roe America.
