GUEST POST: In a new episode of the Explicitly Pro-Life podcast, hosted by Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins, Hawkins welcomes guest Herbie Newell. Newell is President and Executive Director of Lifeline Children’s Services, the largest evangelical Christian adoption agency in the United States. He is also the author of a book titled Image Bearers: Shifting from Pro-Birth to Pro-Life.
With more than a million children orphaned just since COVID-19, it is more important than ever for Christians around the world to step up and consider ways that they can support and love these children through fostering and adoption. Even if you’re not ready to adopt, this episode highlights some key ways that you can get involved in efforts to love both children and families.

Newell also highlights the pillars of Lifeline Children’s Services and notes how the organization is not only pro-adoption and pro-foster care but also for family reunification whenever possible. These are all ways that the Christian church can affirm life and show that each child is worthy of love, is valued, and has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
