“We celebrate that Mark Houck’s case — a case which never should have gone to trial — has been shown to be the absurdity that it was from the beginning,” said Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America. “His acquittal is a hopeful sign for many pro-life Americans who have lost faith in the Biden Administration’s impartiality as, time and time again, pro-lifers are discriminated against while the abortion lobby runs rampant.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (01-30-2023) – Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins commented on the recent acquittal of a Pennsylvania pro-life activist and father, Mark Houck, who had been forcibly arrested by a SWAT team for alleged violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. She said,
“We celebrate that Mark Houck’s case — a case which should never have gone to trial — has been shown to be the absurdity that it was from the beginning. His acquittal is a hopeful sign for many pro-life Americans who have lost faith in the Biden Administration’s impartiality as, time and time again, pro-lifers are discriminated against while the abortion lobby runs rampant.
“We’re still on waiting on justice for the Supreme Court leaker; for all the pro-life organizations which were firebombed and vandalized; for the gun threats that were lobbied against us; and for all other acts of violence and threats that were overlooked by Biden’s law enforcement agencies.
“As SFLA and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) continue to call for equal protection under the law for pro-lifers, we are happy see Houck cleared and back in the ranks again with the pro-life movement.”

Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), make up the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization and a political and policy operation engaging people of all ages. Together they work to end abortion — the human rights issue of our day — and provide political, legal, and community support for women and their children, born and preborn. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA has more than 1,300 groups on middle, high school, college, university, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. SFLA creates strategy, policy, and programming to connect those most targeted for abortion with people ready to help and builds a framework for political engagement on their behalf. SFLA and SFLAction have more conversations with those most targeted by the abortion industry than any other pro-life outreach in the world, reaching more than 2 million people across social media platforms each week and engaging in approximately 100,000 digital conversations per month. Over more than 16 years, President Kristan Hawkins has grown SFLAction/SFLA into an $18 million organization preparing for a Post-Roe America.
