The President of the NAACP, Derrick Johnson, and his leadership team recently wrote an open letter encouraging pro-athletes not to sign with Texas teams over the new voting and abortion laws.
Mr. Johnson stated in the letter that, “If you are a woman, avoid Texas. If you are Black, avoid Texas. If you want to lower your chances of dying from coronavirus, avoid Texas.”
As a black woman, I am tired of the narrative that black women need abortion or that we will be the main ones affected if abortion is no longer legal. The Democratic Party has made many unkept promises to the black community only to never come through with these promises.
The Heart Beat bill, which bans abortion when once a heart beat can be detected, is already saving many lives, including preborn black lives.
If the NAACP really wanted to be honest, their letter should say, “If you are a woman, avoid Planned Parenthood; if you are black, avoid Planned Parenthood; if you want to increase the black community presence in the United States, avoid Planned Parenthood.”
The black population is steadily declining because of abortion. That is design.
The goal of the NAACP is “to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes.”
If that is the case, Mr. Johnson should tell black women to avoid Planned Parenthood which strategically targets black women. Black women have the highest rate of abortions.
I can’t imagine that the NAACP does not know that the #1 killer in the black community is abortion.
I can’t imagine that they would ignore the fact that Planned Parenthood alone kills 360 black babies a day and have placed 88% of their surgical abortion facilities within walking distance in low-income and minority areas, but somehow, Texas is the enemy?
The new Texas voting and abortion laws will increase the value of all people, not destroy them.
The NAACP pushes a false narrative by stating that the plan of the Texas laws are “a blueprint by legislators to violate constitutional rights for all.”
What about the rights of the black preborn lives? Every human being should have the basic right to life.
If the NAACP truly cared about all black lives, they would be fighting for justice inside the womb, as well. Instead, they only care about those who were lucky enough to make it outside the womb.
Either All Black Lives Matter or they don’t.
