“Whether on a battlefield or in an emergency room, usually we rush to treat and help people with a heartbeat, unless they are in a mother’s womb,” said Hawkins. “South Carolina shows great respect for pre-born people in their support of this soon-to-be law.”
COLUMBIA, SC (02-18-2021) – Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins said that the South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act now before Gov. Henry McMaster showed the deep respect for life that South Carolina has for preborn babies. “Whether on a battlefield or in an emergency room, usually we rush to treat and help people with a heartbeat, unless they are in a mother’s womb,” said Hawkins. “South Carolina shows great respect for pre-born people in their support of this soon-to-be law. Rather than respect the voters’ pro-life values, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are expected to file an immediate lawsuit, to use the courts to force their agenda when citizens choose life.”
Earlier this month, South Carolina State Captain for Students for Life Action, Colin Shaw, testified before a House subcommittee, sharing his concerns, noting, “Abortion is not healthcare,” and urging legislators to work for legislation that helps young families.
