George Upper grew up in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro after studying English as an undergraduate. He then returned to UNCG to complete his Master of Arts in English and Master of Business Administration degrees.

Soon after becoming a Christian while serving in the U.S. Army, George was convicted by the Holy Spirit of the sanctity of life during a conversation with a friend who simply said, “Abortion is murder.” He has never wavered from that conviction in the decades since.

George is the former Managing Editor of Conservative Tribune and the former Editor-in-Chief of The Western Journal. His work has been cited during congressional hearings into censorship by Facebook and other social media companies. He has also spoken at the Western Conservative Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

George currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina, and serves the Pro-Life Generation as Students for Life’s Writing Team Manager. This work includes maintaining the organization’s Style Guide and ensuring the excellence of all the organization’s written communication.
