Every human being—whether they are born or preborn—deserves equal dignity simply because of what they are, not what they can do.

From the moment of fertilization, a new, living human organism with unique DNA comes into existence; a human being with intrinsic moral worth and a right to life. Arbitrary traits like race, viability, capability, location, or consciousness are irrelevant for human value. Valuing humans based on such traits undermines the universal principle that all human beings have fundamental rights. When we oppose injustice toward immigrants, people with disabilities, or victims of genocide, we affirm that every person matters because they are human — and that same value must extend to preborn children.
