On Saturday, August 23rd, the Pro-Life Generation will gather outside of abortion facilities across the nation to offer hope, resources, and support to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Whether it’s offering a kind word, life-saving information, or simply your presence, you can be the difference between life and death for a preborn child.

Sidewalk outreach is one of the most direct and powerful ways to affirm Life in your community. Many mothers arrive at abortion facilities feeling distraught, not knowing who to turn to for authentic, compassionate support. They are told by the media that abortion is the best “solution” to an unplanned pregnancy — but that’s far from the truth!

It’s time to be the compassionate voice these mothers need to choose LIFE!

Before you hit the sidewalks on Saturday, August 23rd, for National Sidewalk Day, join us for a special online training with Lauren Muzyka, President and CEO of Sidewalk Advocates for Life, on Thursday, August 21st, at 8 PM ET. You’ll gain practical sidewalk advocacy knowledge, learn what to say (and what not to), and get tips on how to engage mothers with compassion.

Choosing Your Outreach Location

See the list below to find a location near you and connect with your local team of activists, including your Students for Life of America Regional Coordinator! Most events will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, but some cities have chosen alternative dates—please note the details under each location.

Don’t see a nearby spot? No worries—you can still take part by serving at your own local abortion facility and rallying your pro-life peers to take part in this meaningful day.

DO’s & DON’Ts for Sidewalk Success

✅ DO:

  • Know where you can legally stand outside the facility (research the public property around it if you don’t know it).
  • Be peaceful and remember why you’re there: to provide compassionate support
  • Smile and be pleasant.
  • Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
  • Know the literature you have in your hand.
  • Back up what you say.
  • Show each woman that you care about her, not just her child.
  • Speak clearly and loudly enough to hear.

    ❌ DON’T:

    • Do not break the law (e.g. don’t touch the front door, respect property lines, and follow other guidelines required by your city).
    • Do not yell.
    • Do not wear sunglasses.
    • Do not display unapproachable body language (crossing arms, grumpy expression, etc.).
    • Do not block the woman’s walking path or driveway at the facility
    • Do not be aggressive.
    • Do not evangelize.
    • Do not goof around.
    • Do not touch the person – be respectful of personal space.
    • Do not carry signs if you’re counseling. Stick to in-hand literature.
