Diego Enrique Sananez grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and served two years and two summers as a Catholic missionary with NET Ministries (one year) and Life Teen (two summers and one year). He also studied Theology and Philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville and hopes to finish his degree someday soon.

Diego first came to the pro-life movement in high school through learning about the dignity of human life in his Life Teen youth group at his local parish. He was also involved in a number of pro-life marches, rallies, rosary walks, and prayer times outside of abortion clinics during his time as a college student at Franciscan University of Steubenville. It was through these events and studying St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body that Diego became convicted of fighting for the dignity of every human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.

Diego’s heart was particularly moved to begin to pray and fight for the lives of the unborn (those among us who are the most vulnerable) by participating in the FUS Students for Life group. Specifically this consisted in driving 30-40 minutes to the nearest abortion clinic in Pittsburgh, PA, praying on the sidewalk outside (other students who had been trained by SFLA also did some sidewalk counseling), and witnessing some of the many heartbreaking interactions that occurred on that sidewalk. He also occasionally attended speaker events, documentary screenings, and other pro-life events put on by SFL group at FUS.

Diego currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and serves the Pro-Life Generation as Students for Life’s Southern Regional Coordinator. This work includes facilitating on-campus pro-life events at school/university campuses and public and student engagement.
