The last decade has been “disastrous” and “rough” for the abortion industry. While we certainly agree, that’s not just the opinion of pro-life groups; it’s the opinion of abortion industry activists and consultants.
Buzzfeed News has a great article that breaks down the successes of the pro-life movement, and quotes industry insiders, including former Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards.
They quote Elizabeth Nash, an analyst for the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute as saying, “It’s been a rough decade for those that support abortion rights…”
The article notes, “Most of the 10 experts on abortion rights who spoke to BuzzFeed News for this story — ranging from conservative anti-abortion lobbyists to former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, acting Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson, and NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue — credited several developments for this massive shift, but many agreed the 2010 elections were significantly responsible.”
An abortion analyst said that it's been a 'rough decade' for abortion advocates.
Yeah? Just wait for for the 2020s 😁

Yes, we agree! The article notes the work of the pro-life movement in passing pro-life laws.
“When the first ban on abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy was introduced in Ohio in 2011, it wasn’t even taken up for a vote. The feeling among anti-abortion legislators across the country throughout the first half of the decade was that those kinds of extreme bans would never hold up to court challenges. But after Trump’s election, and particularly after Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation in 2018, that changed…..Anti-abortion advocates and legislators saw a friendly administration that would appoint conservative federal judges and Supreme Court justices who would vote their way.”
The pro-live movement has had a great decade, but there’s more work to be done. Read more about one of our post-Roe projects here.
