Students for Life Action Says Pro-Life Politicians will be called to hold the line in the Days ahead
“No matter the change in the legislative make up, Students for Life and Students for Life Action will rally, lobby, mobilize and engage our grassroots army so that Virginia does not embrace the abortion extremism of New York and Illinois,”
said Students for Life Action president Kristan Hawkins.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA and RICHMOND, VA (11-5-19) — Responding to the election results in Virginia, Students for Life Action president Kristan Hawkins noted, “Tonight’s results illustrate why Students for Life Action launched this year. We know that elections have consequences, and we will be working to make a strong stand for LIFE in the coming election. But no matter the change in the legislative make up, Students for Life and Students for Life Action will rally, lobby, mobilize and engage so that Virginia does not embrace the abortion extremism of New York and Illinois. We won’t quietly accept cheers and celebrations for abortion up to the point of infanticide. In Virginia, Students for Life Action will still call on our elected officials to immediately oppose the Repeal Act, which would wipe out all pro-life laws, allowing even infanticide for infants born during botched abortion,” said Hawkins.
In total, Students for Life Action made over 70,000 phone calls, knocked on over 15,000 doors, and sent over 250,000 peer-to-peer text messages in this election cycle.
“Students for Life Action will continue to mobilize and ensure that Virginians understand the extremism of Planned Parenthood and NARAL. We showed our ability to contribute to elections, helping several pro-life state senate candidates in close races win, through door knocking, phone calls, text messages, and targeted social media ads. The pro-life generation will not remain silent when the abortion lobby tries to introduce their infanticide agenda in Richmond this January. We’re ready for the battle,” said Matt Lamb, executive director of Students for Life Action.
Students for Life Action was particularly involved in a handful of key pro-life victories, including:
Jen Kiggans, Senate District 7, Over 70,000 text messages, a weekend deployment, over 1000 phone calls, nearly 2,000 doors knocked
Amanda Chase, Senate District 11, Over 10,000 texts, nearly 4500 phone calls
Bryce Reeves, Senate District 17, Over 70,000 text messages, 6,000 phone calls, 6,000 doors
Kirk Cox, House of Delegates 66, Over 15,000 texts nearly 1200 calls
