Students for Life of America says it’s “Undemocratic” for Judge to Block Alabama’s attempts to Protect Preborn Life
WASHINGTON D.C. (10-29-19) – Following news that a federal judge has blocked an Alabama law that would have protected preborn life early in pregnancy, Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins made the following statement: “Once again, the abortion industry is using the judges in their pocket to usurp the will of the voters. People want a voice and a vote on the issue of abortion. In fact, a poll that we at Students for Life of America took earlier this year of Millennials found that 65 percent wanted to vote on abortion policy. It’s undemocratic to block the efforts of people to take a stand in defense of preborn life.”
For further analysis, Hawkins weighed in on the issues addressed in the Alabama law in two op-eds, at USA Today and First Things.
