Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, kicked off her speaking tour last week at Kent State University, on Thursday, September 26th. The theme of this speaking tour is “Make Abortion Illegal Again: Helping Women & Families After Roe” and talks about what abortion was like before Roe v. Wade, the lies used to get abortion legalized nationwide, and what the pro-life movement is doing now to prepare for the day Roe is reversed.
Hawkins had a special guest with her at the event, former Ohio state legislator Christina Hagan, a staunchly pro-life Millennial. Hagan sponsored the heartbeat bill in Ohio, leading to this ironic photo, of pro-choice feminists flipping off Hagan as she walked into work with her children.

In her talk, hosted by Kent State Students for Life, Hawkins described how NARAL co-founder Bernard Nathanson, a later convert to the pro-life movement, admitted they inflated the number of women who died from abortion before Roe. She also talked with Hagan about how we could improve education, healthcare, the adoption system, and economic opportunities at the state and local area.
Lily Hutkowski, the Indiana/Ohio Regional Coordinator for Students for Life of America said of the event, “We know that Roe will soon be reversed. The pro-life movement knows that our work will just be starting when Roe is reversed, and we must start working now to create the most life-affirming society we can, one that supports moms, dads, and their children.”
Vox.com recently wrote about how Roe is soon to be reversed in one way or another. You can read the analysis here.
Upcoming speaking events include Monday, October 14th at Liberty University and Tuesday, October 15th at Xavier University. All events are free and open to the public, so if you are in the area, make sure to come by.
