Planned Parenthood said they’ll be exiting the Title X family planning fund (but still taking Medicaid dollars and other taxpayer dollars) under the new Protect Life Rule. All they have to do is legally separate their abortion business from their non-abortion services and they could participate in the Title X program. But Planned Parenthood, once again, is putting abortions in front of medical care. Remember that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner proposed this to Cecile Richards after the election, that they just separate their businesses, and Richards called it a bribe.
In a press release, Students for Life of America noted, ”
“Pregnancy is not a disease cured by abortion, and family planning services are widely available from all kinds of real healthcare providers as women will soon see for themselves. So much for Planned Parenthood putting women’s health over their financial interests in the abortion business. Earlier this year, Students for Life did a poll of Millennials, finding that by about a 3 to 1 margin(48 percent to 17 percent), Millennials said they preferred that their tax monies went to Federally Qualified Health Centers rather than the abortion giant, Planned Parenthood.”

Other groups including Aunt Martha’s, which does not commit abortions but may refer for abortions, say they’ll be rejecting Title X funds as well, putting their love for abortion over women’s health.
In a July press release, the group wrote, “Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness, only the second private organization in Illinois to receive funding for its Title X Family Planning program directly from the federal government, announced today that it would begin the process of formally notifying the government of its intent to forgo approximately $500,000 in federal Title X funds. This action is directly related to the decision of a federal appeals court allowing the government to stop funding for contraception for low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients unless providers refuse to refer women to abortion services, along with other reproductive health care.” The group said it wasn’t a political decision, so it obviously IS a political decision.
Planned Parenthood of Delaware also said they would be refusing federal funding. In a fact-challenged article, Planned Parenthood of Delaware says that women won’t be able to get pap tests now because of Trump. In fact, Planned Parenthood of Delaware is free to open up a separate business that commits abortions and then another one that does everything else, including pap tests, and there will be no interruption in services.
In a telling exchange recently, HHS Secretary Alex Azar pointed out to a pro-choice Congresswoman that her argument that a loss of Title X funds would lead to possible facility closures for Planned Parenthood proved there was subsidizing going on using taxpayer dollars.
