“A vote for the discharge petition is a vote to protect infants from infanticide,” said SFL Action President Kristan Hawkins. “Where a child is born should not determine whether they can be left to die.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (04-02-19) – Students for Life Action staff and students will be joining the events on Capitol Hill today as the U.S. House leadership works to pass a discharge petition, forcing a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The Pro-Life Generation has been active in reaching out to members of the House, asking them to #ResistInfanticide and support protections for babies born in botched abortions. SFL Action President Kristan Hawkins has pledged that voters will know just how their Senators and Representatives voted on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a measure to prevent legal infanticide. In February, the Senate failed to win passage of the measure because they could not reach a super majority. Currently the issue is before the U.S. House as a vote for a discharge petition on the bill.
“This vote will be remembered. It is inhumane to stand by and allow babies born during botched abortions to be treated as trash. This is not a ‘life of the mother, health of the mother’ situation either, as the infant lies alone and in need of care. The Pro-Life Generation cares about these children, and we ask members of the House to take a stand for them today,” said Hawkins.
Previously, 44 U.S. Senators, including leading Democratic Presidential contenders, actually voted to allow an infant, born and struggling for life, to be thrown out like garbage. Students for Life Action has already led protests against the Senators running for President who voted in favor of infanticide and will be prepared to remind voters about how their legislators addressed the barbarism of legal infanticide.

In a poll recently commissioned by Students for Life of America, about 7 in 10 Millennials – now the nation’s largest voting bloc – supported limits on abortion. Significantly, the poll also found that only 7 percent shared the position of the Democratic Party Platform – abortion without any exceptions and funded by tax dollars.
