On Tuesday, March 19th, over 150 students turned out for Kristan Hawkins’ “Lies Feminists Tell” Speaking Tour stop at Boston College. The event generated high levels of interest, as pro-abortion feminists attended to ask Hawkins questions (or in many cases, go on rambling stories that eventually ended with an accuquestion).
Leading up to the event, the Students for Life group had their posters torn down and stolen. According to the student newspaper, “The posters ripped down display the three lies Hawkins claims feminists tell about abortion: “Women need abortion to succeed,” “Women need planned parenthood for healthcare,” and “You can’t be a student and a parent.” The Pro-Life club has reported the issue to OSI, which is lodging a complaint with the Boston College Police Department. The issue has been persistent in relation to prior Pro-Life Club events, which have also had one or two posters ripped down, but this time the issue is much more rampant. Almost every flier that is posted is ripped down within hours without fail in this case.”

Ahead of the speech, Hawkins stated, “For too long, Women and Gender Studies departments and leftist administrators have pushed the agenda of mainstream feminism; unlimited abortion, free birth control, and sex without consequences, insinuating that’s all women want or need. It’s time we expose this failed experiment for what it truly is and discuss how we can take back feminism and the women’s agenda from pro-abortion, radical feminists.”
Speaking tour stops this semester include: Franciscan University-Steubenville on March 25th, Cal-Berkeley on April 4th, Miami-Oxford on April 25th, University of Wyoming on April 29th, and Western Washington University on May 9th.
