The Pro-Life Generation in Illinois will be rallying with other pro-life groups in the state on March 20th against the disastrous abortion agenda being pushed in the state of Illinois. Currently, Illinois is considering a variety of pro-abortion bills, being pushed by the new pro-abortion governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker. Specifically, the state is considering its own New York-style Reproductive Health Act, that would strip away practically all protections for the preborn. Soon after the Reproductive Health Act was passed in New York, an alleged murderer allegedly killed a pregnant woman and her preborn baby, but the prosecutor could no longer charge the alleged murderer with two crimes, because of the new New York legislation.
The other key piece of legislation is a repeal of the parental notification law, which serves as a check against sexual abuse of minors. Despite the governor being heavily pro-abortion, pro-life activists have been making strong progress in pushing back against this legislation. Pro-life citizens filed thousands of witness slips, stating their opposition to the legislation introduced.
According to Illinois Right to Life Action, over 10,000 people filed witness slips against both pieces of legislation, which long-time pro-life Illinois lobbyist Ralph Rivera said is the largest opposition he has seen in the state.

Sarah Minnich, Illinois Regional Coordinator for Students for Life, and a student leader at St. Xavier University in Chicago noted, “The rally on Wednesday will be a great opportunity for the Pro-Life Generation, and pro-lifers in Illinois in general, to show that we reject the extreme Pritzker-Cuomo abortion agenda. Illinois has a history of corruption—we should not further that image by allowing the abortion industry to rewrite our pro-life laws in a way that puts young women into harm’s way and allows for Planned Parenthood to set the health and safety agenda for our state.”
The rally day also includes lobbying and rallying with other pro-life groups, including Illinois Right to Life. Students from schools including St. Xavier, Peoria Notre Dame High School, and Crusaders from Life Youth Group from St. John Cantius and several other parishes in the state.
Students will be bringing thank you notes to pro-life legislators and will also be bringing fetal pain info to moderate/pro-choice legislators to try to sway their opinion.
