The Planned Parenthood Generation Action group at University of Mary Washington in Virginia recently hosted a day asking people to thank abortionists who violate their Hippocratic Oath and make hundreds of thousands of dollars doing literally the one thing they aren’t supposed to do. The group wrote ‘thank-you notes’ to abortionists in advance of National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, which was Sunday, March 10th.
But the Students for Life group at University of Mary Washington wasn’t going to let this abortion propaganda go unanswered. In response, the group organized cards to go to abortionists with information on the group And Then There Were None (ATTWN). ATTWN is a group that helps people leave the abortion industry; it was started by pro-life activist and former Planned Parenthood facility director Abby Johnson. The movie Unplanned, which comes out on March 29th, tells her story of leaving Planned Parenthood.
Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America noted, “I can think of no other situation where we thank people who deliberately kill innocent human life. Thanking abortionists just shows that groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL are in fact pro-abortion. This is just one more reason we must defund groups like Planned Parenthood, who are more concerned about lining the pockets of abortionists and their own bottom line than providing real healthcare.”
Aeriana Mann, president of Students for Life at University of Mary Washington said in a statement, “At one point, abortionists were trained as medical doctors so they could help people who were suffering. Now, in the relentless pursuit of money, abortionists commit over 1 million abortions a year in the United States, raking in millions of dollars. We should not be ‘thanking’ people who get paid to end innocent human life. We will continue to pray for them to leave the abortion industry and hope they realize the serious atrocities they are committing.”
The group plans to send the cards to nearby Planned Parenthoods in the Virginia/D.C. area.
The event is part of “Abortion Provider Appreciation Week” supported by groups like NARAL Pro-Choice America, which opposes all limits on abortion, including most recently opposing ending infanticide. NARAL’s Ohio group writes about the event, “March 10th is Abortion Provider Appreciation Day. We are proud to work with healthcare providers all over the state of Ohio who perform this crucial procedure. This is not just for the doctors who provide this procedure, but for the nurses, front desk workers, counselors, and researchers in our clinics. Their work ensures the health and safety of people seeking this constitutionally-protected service. We also thank providers because there are so few of them. Not only do they face opposition from legislators (with half of our clinics in Ohio closing since 2011), but abortion providers in the United States are outnumbered by fake clinics 4 to 1 (and in some states, it’s higher than that). To continue to do this work despite the opposition deserves thanks.”
Around Thanksgiving, Planned Parenthood asked supporters to say why they were thankful for abortionists. Which seems weird, considering that I thought abortion was only 3% of what they do?
