Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, is continuing her Lies Feminists Tell Speaking Tour, where she discusses the lies of mainstream feminism. Some of the lies of mainstream feminism Hawkins will address include lies about birth control, abortion, and women in the workplace.
Hawkins has previously spoken about the Lies Feminists Tell at universities including Cal-Berkeley, Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, and the University of Oklahoma. At all of these events, she does not just speak about feminism, but also takes questions from the audience, inviting debate from pro-abortion feminists for example.
Hawkins told the University of Kansas newspaper before a speech there, “Anyone is certainly welcome to come out and hear what I have to say and to ask me questions..because I think this is a discussion that’s important and it’s worth having in our country and we simply can’t stop talking about these things because they’re hard to talk about.”
At one speaking event at Southern Methodist University, a pro-abortion feminist actually said she didn’t know when human rights began, and said poor people should have more abortions. That student’s argument was quietly, and quickly demolished by a student who stood up soon after and spoke about being pro-life and growing up in poverty.
One write-up of Kristan’s speaking event noted, “The presentation walked through the history of feminism and the anti-abortion movement, culminating in the list of five alleged lies. An enthusiastic Q&A session ensued, during which key topics included the definition of feminism and the position of anti-abortion advocates in the feminist movement.”
Speaking tour stops this year include: Boston College on March 19th, Cal-Berkeley on April 4th, Miami-Oxford on April 25th, University of Wyoming on April 29th, and Western Washington University on May 9th.
