Someone help me understand the political strategy of the abortion lobby. First, they pass extreme abortion legislation in New York, which would allow for abortion up until the moment of birth. As part of the celebration, Governor Cuomo orders that the One World Trade Center be lit up pink to celebrate abortion, managing to not only alienate pro-lifers, but also people who lost loved ones to 9/11.
Then, they try to pass the same legislation in Virginia, but their lead sponsor, Kathy Tran, admitted on video that the legislation would allow for abortion 5 seconds before delivery. THEN, the Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam says that not only does he think abortion is okay the moment before birth, but he actually thinks it should be legal to kill a fully born human being in the delivery room.
Not to be outdone, Senator Patty Murray of Washington voted to block medical care for those babies Governor Northam thinks should be allowed to die in the delivery room. As Senator Sasse said, ““I’m going to ask all 100 senators to come to the floor and be against infanticide. This shouldn’t be complicated.”
But evidently it was too complicated for Senator Murray, who said no to allowing a vote on the legislation. According to the Catholic News Agency, “The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would penalize doctors who do not attempt to provide medical care to an infant born alive after an abortion with up to five years in prison. The bill also requires that an infant born in an abortion clinic be transferred to a hospital. A woman attempting to procure an abortion would also be granted civil cause of action against the medical professional performing the abortion, and would not be subject to criminal penalties.”
Yes. A vote on ending infanticide didn’t receive a 100-0 vote.
President Trump should call out these politicians for receiving millions of dollars from Planned Parenthood and for supporting infanticide. If you agree, you can call the White House at (202) 456-1111.
Meanwhile, there are still some good pro-life Senators, like Ben Sasse, and the Pro-Life Generation Senator, Josh Hawley:
