Students for Life Rejects Abortion Funding In Budget Deal
WASHINGTON D.C. (01-02-19) –As the House prepares to vote on the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2019, which reportedly contains funding for abortions worldwide (a reversal of the pro-life Mexico City policy), Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins called on legislators of both parties to reject new funding for abortion in the U.S. budget that would pay for abortions worldwide and to reject any new funding for abortion here at home.
“News that abortion is the leading cause of death worldwide is a tragedy of international proportions, but asking U.S. taxpayers to pay for it is an offensive misuse of scarce resources.Taxpayers have had enough of the abortion industry’s vision of abortion as the United States’ number one export. As a bipartisan matter, we should help women and children at home and abroad, without making ending life the goal of U.S. policy,” said Hawkins.
