Students for Life Condemns Vandalism at Southern Methodist University
DALLAS, TX and FREDERICKSBURG, VA (10-28-18)–
Responding to the vandalism and theft of flyers for the Lies Pro-Choice Politicians Tell speaking tour stop at Southern Methodist University this Monday, the 29th, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life released the following statement, “We fully condemn the cowardly attacks by pro-choice students who are too afraid to actually come and talk to us face-to-face to argue with us. The event on Monday is free, open to the public, and has a question and answer session; yet, the cowardly, spineless students decided stealing our signs was the best they could muster, perhaps because they are afraid of trying to defend their ideas?”
In total the signs have been stolen from four different locations as of Sunday afternoon, according to Price Morgan, chairman of SMU YAF.
Southern Methodist University YAF is hosting Kristan Hawkins as part of her Lies Pro-Choice Politicians Tell speaking tour. This semester, Hawkins has spoken at Robert Morris University, University of Oklahoma, University of Denver, and several other schools. At the Robert Morris University stop, signs were also destroyed by pro-choice vandals.

Morgan added, “SMU YAF is 100% committed to free and open debate and the principles of free-speech. We are disappointed that our fellow students refuse to engage with us on campus, and instead resort to theft. We invite all people who want to openly debate the issue of abortion to come to our event.”
In April 2016, pro-choice vandals destroyed Mustangs for Life’s Cemetery of the Innocents display.
Last year, vandals stole crosses representing the victims of abortion multiple times at St. Louis University, even after condemnation from the school’s president.
Other recent vandalism includes: pro-life posters being torn down at Woodson High School in Virginia, signs and flags being stolen at University of Nebraska-Omaha, and pro-life posters being torn down at Robert Morris University and Kutztown University.
