Day 3 #Justice4Life: Missouri Meets With Leading Politicians
Only the U.S. Senate gets to vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, but that doesn’t mean the other elected officials in Missouri don’t have a stake in the nomination fight. Governors can be affected by how well or how poorly the Supreme Court respects the 10th Amendment and gives states the freedom to set their own policies. U.S. Representatives can be affected by whether or not the Supreme Court respects their role in setting policy, or defers too much to the bureaucracy in creating regulations.
Team Missouri took every opportunity they could get to meet with elected officials across Missouri during the #Justice4Life Tour. They were able to meet with the staff for Senator McCaskill, considered a maybe on Kavanaugh, as well as Attorney General, and possible McCaskill replacement, Josh Hawley. They also met with pro-life U.S. Representative Ann Wagner and pro-life Governor Mike Parsons!
Reagan Barklage, Western Regional Director and a Missouri resident noted, “We are blessed to have so many pro-life politicians in the state of Missouri, all of whom are very open to meeting with Students for Life. They know the importance of having a pro-life Supreme Court and were enthusiastic about meeting with Students for Life leaders!”
Team Missouri will wrap up their #Justice4Life Van Tour with a rally outside of Senator McCaskill’s St. Louis office this Saturday, August 11th at 9 AM. To find out more about the rally, please visit the FB page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/214098185955877/ .
