Two Students for Life leaders in Missouri were honored last week for their work in defending the preborn and abolishing abortion.
Kathy Forck, an organizer for 40 Days for Life in Missouri, presented the Action Champion for Life Award to Kristen Wood, president of Mizzou Students for Life, and Brandi Peasel of Columbia Community College Students for Life.
According to Forck, “Kristen can always be counted on to speak eloquently at our “Defund Planned Parenthood” rallies and lead her students. A favorite memory was when Kristen was there the day Cecile Richards was stumping and had to “hide” from the press. The Students for Life led by Kristen, were there too. Kristen was persevering in hopes to see Cecile appear and to be interviewed as well. Cecile never did appear…and I guess now she never will!”
She said of Brandi, “She has been a constant warrior on the sidewalk outside the Columbia Planned Parenthood no matter the weather. I know that Brandi will be there every Sunday during the 40 Days For Life Prayer Vigil and during the week whenever possible. Brandi’s cheerful smile, quiet yet powerful demeanor and dedication to life make the sidewalk a much better place! Brandi leads her Columbia College Students for Life with leadership skills of someone who truly cares about what she is doing for Life and is a great role model.”
Reagan Barklage, Western Regional Director for Students for Life said of the students, “Brandi and Kristen are great examples of the Pro-Life Generation. They go above and beyond in their work to defend the preborn, balancing work, school, and extracurriculars to ensure they are building a pro-life presence on their campuses and their community. I look forward to seeing them continue to grow as pro-life leaders and there are no limits on what they can accomplish.”
The student leaders are a shining example of the work of all of our student leaders. We appreciate the recognition they received, and we look forward to seeing what else they will do next.
