Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, said this about the passage of the bill:
“It’s about time that Planned Parenthood start looking somewhere else for revenue rather than American taxpayers, who have no interest in funding abortion. House leadership should be commended for listening to their constituents and getting a bill passed that defunds Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion vendor.
“Senators who ran on promises to defund the supposed non-profit should remember those promises and vote in kind. Every day of broken promises from elected officials means another 888 abortions done by Planned Parenthood. The cost of inaction are those priceless lives that Planned Parenthood doesn’t think twice about taking and those women who they have no qualms about betraying. The Senate needs to act on this bill now.”
While not perfect (we can’t pass a full defunding measure because we lack the 60 votes in the Senate to break a pro-abortion filibuster), this bill has been years in the making. It’s been through all your hard work, your calls, emails, and sending in baby socks that has made this day possible.
Can you call your Senator TODAY and tell them that Planned Parenthood doesn’t deserve one more dime of taxpayer funding and to vote to defund the abortion giant? Find your Senator’s contact info here.
Planned Parenthood is saying that defunding them hurts poor women. They are saying that pro-lifers want to take away women’s healthcare like cancer screenings and pap tests. They are intentionally misinforming the public about their abortion business.
Over the past several years, they have received more and more government funding but provide less and less services -and those services they do provide are to a fraction of women in this country:
We don’t need Planned Parenthood.
The Pro-Life Generation isn’t slowing down. Today is a victory but we have so much more to do.
