Do your graduates recite the Hippocratic Oath during graduation? If not, why not? The Medical Students for Life chapter at the Medical College of WI will co-host this year’s 11th Annual Pro-Life Hippocratic Oath Banquet for 4th year medical students on Wed, April 29 in Milwaukee. The speaker, Stephen McCurdy, MD, MPH of UC-Davis will give a keynote address (“Physician-Assisted Suicide and the Meaning of Compassion”), give pro-life advice to the new medical school graduates, and then will explain a bit of the long history and tradition — the original Hippocratic Oath was sworn by Apollo — of the physician’s duty to swear to uphold life from conception to natural death.
