Congratulations to all of these incredible groups. They are amazing representations of what our pro-life students are all about and we are so proud of them.
2015 East Coast National Conference High School Group of the Year:
The Atonement Academy’s St. Gianna Molla Pro-Life Club
The 2015 High School Group of the Year has organized over 15 events during the past year, not counting regular meetings. This group has gone above and beyond by getting the entire school community involved in regular pro-life activism. They are expert fundraisers, regularly selling Pro-Life T-Shirts during lunch, organizing several bake sales, and working with local restaurants for fundraising events to make their March for Life trip possible. They also put great effort into raising donations of diapers and supplies to their local Pregnancy Resource Center. These students strongly believe in the power of prayer, by participating weekly in 40 Days for Life and organizing Rosaries for the unborn during lunch hours during the seasons of Lent and Advent. These dedicated students also exhibit great organization by planning 2 general meetings and 2 officer meetings every month, as well as organizing their trip here today, all the way from Texas.
2015 East Coast National Conference New High School Group of the Year:
Regis Jesuit Girls Division Students for Life
The 2015 New High School Group of the Year is awarded to a group of fantastic and ambitious students. During this group’s first event, they had one of the most successful Cupcakes for Life on record. Hosted during their school’s lunch hour alone, the new Students for Life group handed out hundreds of cupcakes and prayer cards, and signed up over 50 students for their club. But this was only the beginning for this girl’s division high school group. Later in 2014 they also had one of the most successful diaper drives on record! By turning the diaper drive into a school-wide competition, the total number of diapers donated to expectant mothers totaled over 6,000. Some students were even offered extra credit by supporting teachers for donating diapers to the drive.
2015 West Coast National Conference High School Group of the Year:
Bishop Kelly Knights for Life
The 2015 High School Group of the Year is a group that has shown amazing growth during the past year. They have become a symbol of the Pro-Life Generation in their region, and have grown by being present at school functions, offering candy to student in exchange for their engagement, and fostering group relationships. Their engagement with the community is superb, having participated in their local March for Life, 40 Days for Life, volunteering with their local soup kitchen, and doing fundraisers at local sporting events. One of their most successful events this year has been the showing of the 180 Movie, which brought in many non-member students to engage with. Most impressively, this group worked tirelessly to raise the funds to send them to the West Coast March for Life and the Students for Life Conference here, today. Together, this group of 15 students raised over $1,500! Congratulations to the 2015 High School Group of the Year: Bishop Kelly Knights for Life.
