Students for Life of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School – Olney, MD
Just north of our nation’s capitol, in the quiet suburbs of Maryland, a group of high school students are making pro-life noise.
The Students for Life club at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, MD, is educating their peers on abortion and challenging their community to create a culture of life.
Launching their year of activism and education, The Students for Life club hosted Missy Martinez, SFLA’s National High School Program Coordinator, to train them in student activism and how to engage their community as the club (pictured above). After attending the National March for Life and the Cardinal O’Connell Conference on Life, the club also hosted their very own conference, featuring speakers from National Right to Life, Gabriel Network, Students for Life of America, Birthright, and other national organizations. This month, the group hosted internationally renown speaker Stephanie Gray from Canadian Center of Bio-Ethical Reform to learn how to effectively dialogue about abortion.
Our Lady of Good Counsel is committed to educating their school and activating them to engage their community, bringing in some of the top national leaders to train and equip the students. We are excited to see how they will continue to grow and impact an important community in the Washington D.C. area.
