Seeking social justice means that we want to help others meet their basic needs and alleviate their suffering by restoring the broken relationships in their life. It also calls us to defend the most vulnerable in our society. When we look at the world around us, we see people who have not been dealt a “fair share” in life. And in our quest to seek social justice, we must have compassion and an eagerness to help others. We should be making efforts in our communities to reach out to the poor, hungry, and hopeless. And much of these efforts should be focused on not only meeting the immediate need of the person but also setting him or her into a new path in life, repairing broken relationships with family, friends, and self so that they never find themselves at this place again.
As abortion abolitionists, we recognize that the preborn are also at a distinct disadvantage in this world…they have no voice. Some may argue that it is a necessary evil to kill the preborn in order to alleviate the burden of a woman in poverty, protect society from overpopulation, or even resolve the suffering of a woman who has been abused. However, we know that abortion is never a just solution to an unjust situation, for woman or child. Abortion complicates relationships, emotionally harms women, abandons women when they need love and support, and kills the most vulnerable.
This month, be an advocate for social justice! Advocate for the just treatment and protection of preborn children. Advocate for resources for women in unplanned pregnancies. Educate your high school and community using flyers, film screenings, chalking, or presentations. We challenge you to speak out for the most vulnerable among us.
This month’s box includes the following materials: 15 flyers, 25 Down the Drain cards (by the Radiance Foundation), 50 SFLA Social Justice cards, and 50 Social Justice magazines (from Human Life Alliance).
Please submit your request via our new online form found here. Boxes are sent to active students or student groups only, while supplies last. If you need MORE materials than listed, please make a note in the “Additional Comments” section of the form.
