Working with high school students truly is an inspiring experience. Their passion for pro-life work demonstrates that the youth holds the ability to abolish abortion within their lifetime. Traveling around to different colleges in the Rocky Mountain Region this month has connected me with many high school students who are on the tips of their toes asking what Students for Life of America can do to help them start groups at their school. One of the most asked questions I receive comes from high school students wondering how they can become a pro-life leader and if they can receive the same training that
I give to the college groups. I am so happy that the answer is yes!
In the past month I have had the privilege to help a high school group get started in Los Alamos, New Mexico. They are in the beginning stages of growing into a group that will bring education and activism to their community about abortion and help bring resources to pregnant and parenting students in the area. There are other high school groups in the works in the Albuquerque, New Mexico and Colorado area. By the end of the semester the high school pro-life activists in the Rocky Mountain Region will definitely be known by their communities!
Some of the events on the horizon for high school students for life groups include sidewalk chalking, hosting speakers in their communities, bringing resources to their schools, silence day, attending the national Students for Life Conference and National Pro-Life March.
I am so excited to continue my work reaching out and helping high school students. If you are a pro-lifer in the Rocky Mountain Region (CO, WY, UT, NM) or know one and want some help to get a group started please contact me at [email protected]
