President Obama spoke today at the 2013 Planned Parenthood National Conference in Washington, D.C.. Reciting the same tired talking points and misleading claims, Obama touted Planned Parenthood as a health care provider stating that, “women need access to affordable healthcare.” Obama also shared the anecdotes of women who have been helped through Planned Parenthood services. Like a woman who was diagnosed with a disease that could have caused her to be infertile but through Planned Parenthood’s affordable contraceptive care she now has two beautiful children, stating “that’s what Planned Parenthood is all about.”
“It is shocking to state that Planned Parenthood is all about the birth of children when we know that 92% of their prenatal services are abortion,” stated Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life. “Not to mention the fact that Planned Parenthood is not a general health care provider like President Obama painted them today. Planned Parenthood is about big abortion from their sales pitch to women in crisis all the way to their wallet.”
With 8,000 Federally Qualified Health Centers meeting the real health care needs for women, that do not have to sell abortion in order to remain in business, the question has to be asked don’t women deserve better than Planned Parenthood? With Obama’s closing remarks of, “God bless you, and God bless Planned Parenthood,” another question is raised. Can God bless an organization that ends the life of 915 pre-born children every day in the United States? “As long as you keep doing what you are doing, you will have a President who will keep fighting for you,” said Obama. Make no mistake. He is fighting to see abortion on demand and not in defense of these 915 innocent children killed every day for the financial gain of Planned Parenthood.
