We see it on almost a weekly basis – schools violating the rights of pro-life groups and students being personally attacked by their peers. It can be frustrating and demoralizing, but Students for Life of America is here to support campus pro-life groups with both legal and moral support!
A few weeks ago we were there for Johns Hopkins University Voice for Life with legal resources and apologetic tools when they were denied official school recognition from their student government. JHU VFL’s proposed activities were called “harassment” and a violation of school code. The students were also compared to white supremacists and accused of engaging in hate speech.
Last week, we brought national attention to University at Buffalo Students for Life when they were compared to a lynch mob by professors, and support when students went after the president personally with signs showing his picture with the words “Indecency. Ignorance. Intolerance.” at the bottom.
Eastern Michigan University Students for Life is engaged in a legal battle as well as a personal battle on campus. They have filed a lawsuit against the school for violating school funding policies and their First Amendment rights for denying the group funding to bring the Genocide Awareness Project to campus because it was deemed too “controversial.” Pro-aborts are going after their president as well, putting out flyers with her name and personal email for people to write her hate messages.
Legal action does make a difference: yesterday the EMU Student Government announced that the lawsuit prompted them to review their funding procedures and
EMU SFL will be funded.
